Nimonic alloy 263 is an age-hardenable nickel-cobalt-chrome-molybdenum alloy which was designed to have excellent fabrication characteristics in the annealed condition but also very good aged strength properties. Alloy 263 is easier to form or weld than other materials such as Waspaloy or Rene 41 and exhibits excellent intermediate temperature ductility. Alloy 263 is supplied in the annealed condition and its excellent ductility in this condition makes it suitable for cold forming as well as hot working. Alloy 263 can be welded using matching composition filler wire in both TIG and MIG forms. The recommended heat treatments for Nimonic 263 are as follows:

Extruded Bar:
Solution Treatment - 1150 °C for 1.5-2.5 hours + water quench
Ageing Treatment - 800 °C for 8 hours + air cool
(As per BS HR10 / AMS 5886)

Hot-rolled Sheet
Solution Treatment - 1150 °C for 0.5 hours + water quench or air cool
Ageing Treatment - 800 °C for 8 hours + air cool
(As per BS HR206/ AMS 5872)

Cold-rolled Sheet
Solution Treatment - 1150 °C for 3-10 mins + water quench or fluidized bed quenching
Ageing Treatment - 800 °C for 8 hours + air cool
(As per BS HR206 / AMS 5872)

Alloy 276 is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy which includes a small amount of tungsten. 

In corrosion resistant terms, it is one of the most superior products on the market. The material is highly resistant to a wide range of chemicals and gases and is used particularly in oil, gas and chemical production. Alloy 276 has a very low carbon and silicon content. 

Corrosion Resistance:Alloy 276 displays excellent corrosion resistance to a wide range of media including general corrosion, stress corrosion cracking and pitting and crevice corrosion in extreme environments. 

Its resistance to carbide precipitation during welding maintains corrosion resistance in the heat-affected zones of welded joints. This makes the material ideal for use in the fabrication of weldable pressurised vessels for sour gas service. Alloy 400 (nickel-copper) is a solid-solution alloy providing good mechanical strength and toughness over a wide temperature range combined with excellent corrosion resistance. 

The alloy exhibits outstanding properties at sub-zero (including cryogenic) temperatures. Strength and hardness increase with only slight impairment of ductility or toughness. Alloy 400 does not undergo a ductile to brittle transition even when cooled to the temperature of liquid hydrogen. The density of alloy 400 is 8.80 g/cc. 
Corrosion Resistance:Alloy 400 provides excellent resistance to corrosion in a range of media including seawater, hydrofluoric acid, sulphuric acid and alkalis and is widely employed in marine engineering and chemical processing. 

It is more resistant than nickel to corrosion under reducing conditions and more resistant than copper under oxidising conditions. This nickel-copper alloy is therefore in general more resistant to corrosion than either of its two principal constituents. Resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chloride containing media is extremely good.

Nickel-Cobalt-Chromium-Molybdenum Alloy

MP35N is a vacuum induction, vacuum arc re-melted quaternary alloy based on nickel and cobalt with substantial additions of chromium and molybdenum.

The alloy possesses an unusually attractive combination of ultra-high strength, toughness and outstanding corrosion resistance. MP35N alloy may be employed in the annealed condition but can easily be work strengthened to tensile strength levels in excess of 260 ksi (1,793 MPa) with the retention of good ductility. Aging of worked material causes precipitation hardening and can raise the tensile strength by an additional 40 ksi (276 MPa). The density of MP35N alloy is 8.43 g/cc.
